
The City of Granbury has launched a new platform called OPENGOV.com a new online platform that simplifies and streamlines the permitting and development process.
Through this portal, anyone needing a permit including contractors, developers, and property owners can easily register, apply for permits, submit documents, request inspections, and track application status entirely online.
We encourage all Customers to use OPENGOV.com for their permitting and development related business needs on a computer or mobile devices, no visit to City Hall required. Create your account and begin managing your permitting needs today.

Effective December 1, 2023, the City of Granbury adopted the 2020 NEC & 2021 I-Codes. Projects submitted after December 1, 2023, will be permitted under the new codes.
Responsibilities
The Building Inspections, Permits, & Code Enforcement Department performs ordinance enforcement in the areas of both residential and commercial construction. Building Inspections is responsible for the inspection of buildings and structures during construction to ensure compliance with approved plans and all governing building, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, municipal and state codes.
Both new and remodel work is inspected to make sure compliance to all adopted codes are met. Construction permits are required, and both plans reviewed, and permits are issued by the division. Emergency inspections, such as electrical service change, reconnect, gas test, water line, sewer line and on-site sewage facilities, will be the same day.
