Electric Distribution is responsible for maintenance, repair and construction of the Electric Distribution System. This consists of primary and secondary lines, transformers, and other electric system equipment.
The City currently has a purchase power contract with the City of Bryan, Texas Utilities. Power is purchased from BTU, and transmitted to the City via other utilities' transmission lines.
The City has not elected to opt-in to electric deregulation, which would allow it to enter the electric retail market.
Deliver electric power to the citizens efficiently, and at the lowest possible cost.
Maintain electric distribution system.
