Shawn Green named City’s Employee of the Year

Shawn Green has been named the City of Granbury’s “Employee of the Year.” He received the honor from City Manager Chris Coffman during an all-staff luncheon.

Green, a Building Inspector who began working for the City in 2018, was nominated for the award by his supervisor. His “average” day includes thorough inspection of infrastructure at residential and commercial development projects, reviewing residential construction plans, and identifying unpermitted construction. He has certification in telecommunications, building inspection, and is currently working toward plumbing certification.

“I could not get this (Employee of the Year award) if it wasn’t for all the women and men that have given me time and assistance throughout the year,” Green said. “I love working with every person in every department of the City of Granbury. This is a great team!” He also thanked his family for their love and support.

Coffman’s unique “Get R Done” award was presented to Traci Gonzales, a Building Maintenance Technician.

Receiving 2021 “Distinguished Employee Awards were Sharon Langston, Administrative Assistant in the Police Department, Pablo Navedo, a Meter Reader for the Public Works Department, and David Talmage, a Visitor Information Specialist for Visit Granbury.

Employees who reached service increments of five years were recognized. Cliff Clemons, Police Sergeant received his 20-year award. Five employees: Kent Barnes, Ben Hernandez, Michael Holly, Keith McKean, and Christy Russell were recognized for 15 years of service. Zac Anderson, Bruce Hewett, Carla Walker have completed ten years with the City. Cliff Andrews, Rick Crownover, Paul Gast, Ed Helker, Brian Jones, Cody Martin, Lydia Perez, Seth Richey, Mikevin Singletary, and Maggie Wylie have reached the five-year milestone.
