The City of Granbury is welcoming two new staff members: Kira Wauwie and Jeff Newpher.
Wauwie is the new Director of Community Development. Her department oversees planning, development, and historic preservation for the citizens of Granbury. She also has responsibilities for subdivision regulations, population data and future development objectives. "I am honored to be part of the Granbury team and look forward to serving the community; working with staff, the public and development community to ensure everyone has the best information possible when it comes to Community Development,” Wauwie said.
Wauwie’s previous municipal experience was gained in Garland, TX, Scottsdale, AZ, Las Vegas and Indianapolis. She earned a Master’s in City and Regional Planning from the University of Texas at Arlington and Bachelor of Science in Landscape Design at South Dakota State University.
Newpher has joined the City of Granbury as Communications Manager, coming from Friendswood, TX, where he was the City’s Public Information Officer. His responsibilities include communication to residents through social media, email, websites, television and media relations. “The City has a unique history, dynamic present and promising future. I’m grateful for the opportunity to inform residents and visitors of the great things the City has to offer, while also helping them live, work and raise a family in a safe environment,” said Newpher.
His career includes extensive experience in print and broadcast journalism, as well as management and multi-media communications for non-profit organizations. He graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Communication.
Newpher joined the City on July 26. Wauwie’s first day was August 2. “These two new staff members are wonderful additions to an already talented team at the City of Granbury,” said Chris Coffman, City Manager. “We anticipate that both of them will have a positive impact on our residents and our entire organization.”
