Fireworks are Prohibited in City Limits. See something unsafe? Say something. Report illegal fireworks inside city limits to Granbury Police at (817) 573-2648. For emergencies, always call 911. Thanks for helping keep Granbury safe this 4th! Not sure what’s considered a firework? If it pops, spins, shoots, or sparks—it is likely prohibited within Granbury city limits. This includes bottle rockets, roman candles, and firecrackers. When in doubt, don’t use it. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is at the city’s professional display, presented by the Chamber of Commerce, over Lake Granbury. More information at https://granburychamber.com/light-up-liberty/

Road Closures and Crowds:  Expect road closures and detours near the Square and Lake Granbury on the 4th of July long weekend. Plan ahead and be patient. Thank you for helping keep the festivities safe and smooth!

Street Closures for July 4th Parade: Please plan ahead if you’re traveling near downtown Granbury on the morning of July 4. Barricades will go up around 8:30 a.m. along the parade route. The parade begins at 9 a.m. at the High School, goes down Pearl St., around the Square, down Bridge St., down Jones to Crossland, and back to the High School. It usually concludes by 11 a.m. Streets along the route, including areas around the Square, will remain closed during that time for the safety of participants and spectators. The Livestream of the Parade begins at 9 at https://youtube.com/live/1qc-hBCOaJs?feature=share  The Broadcast begins when the Parade approaches the Square.

Be fire-wise this 4th of July. Dry grass and high temperatures increase the risk of accidental fires. Avoid parking vehicles on grass, dispose of cigarettes properly, and never leave grills unattended. Thank you for helping protect our parks, homes, and neighborhoods.

Lost Kids and Family Safety: Have a family plan in case you get separated during the festivities. Dress children in bright colors, take a photo of what they’re wearing, and agree on a meeting spot. City staff and police officers are available if you need assistance finding someone.
