Garbage pick-up day changing for half of the City’s residents

On September 13, the weekly trash collection day is changing for approximately half of the residents of the City of Granbury.

Currently, garbage is picked up at all homes on Wednesday. Beginning Monday, September 13, homes generally south of US Highway 377 and east of S. Morgan Street (State Highway 144) will have their trash picked up every Monday. All other homes will continue to have collections on Wednesday.

Homes that are being switched from Wednesday to Monday beginning September 13 will soon receive a certified letter in the US mail.

If you are unsure about your home’s new pickup schedule, go to and view the color-coded map. The purple-shaded area will continue to be picked up on Wednesday. The orange-shaded area will be picked up on Mondays beginning September 13. On the map at, you can also either drag a pin on the map to your neighborhood or enter your home address in the box, and the webpage will indicate if you are a Monday or Wednesday pick-up day after September 13.

There is no change in garbage pickup fees for this modification in service. Residential garbage will still be picked up weekly. Trash must be at the curb by 7 a.m. and removed 24-hours after pickup. Residents must purchase their own trash cans. Recycling will be picked up on the same day as your trash. If there is not a recycle bin at the property and you would like to participate in this free service, please call Waste Connections at 817-579-8855 and request a recycle bin. Business trash collection is unaffected by this change.
