On Friday morning, May 14, 2021, the City of Granbury Parks Board welcomed guests for the unveiling of the recent additions made to Lambert Branch Park and the installation of a park bench to Honor Jean Cate for her 30 years of service on the Granbury Parks Board, whereby much of her time served was as Board Chair.
The park, located at 500 North Brazos, underwent significant renovations with the addition of sidewalks, landscaping, irrigation and play structures. The play structures are not traditional playground units, but large boulders, a crawl-through log and 6’ turtle that are constructed of concrete fiber material for creation of the play areas that focus on connectivity to the green space and natural surroundings of the area, to also ensure the sustainability and usability of the park for generations to come.
Funding for the project was made possible by City funds and donations from the Lake Granbury Area Beautification Council and the Kiwanis Club of Lake Granbury.
Looking forward, one of the City of Granbury Parks Board goals is to create connectivity to the nearby “Moments in Time” hike and bike trail with additional walkways as well as seating areas.
