[ARCHIVED] Brawner Elementary 5th Grader, Caskey, Named Honorary Councilmember

At the May 4, 2021, Granbury City Council regular meeting, Mayor Pro Tem Tony Mobly and the entire City Council named Brawner Elementary 5th grader Maddie Caskey as the final 2021 Honorary City Councilmember. She is the daughter of Matt and Christy Caskey.

Maddie is the student council president at Brawner and has been nominated for Student of the Month every month for the past three years. She has also made the “All-A” Honor Roll every 6-weeks for the entire 2020-2021 school year. She is also an active member of the Urban Volleyball Club and volunteers at her church by working with toddlers.

Maddie’s teachers describe her as being very respectful, responsible, kind, caring and a giving young lady who always extends a helping hand. Besides being eager to help, they say she is an exemplary student who always displays a kind heart, positive attitude.

“Congratulations on being chosen to serve as an Honorary Councilmember,” said Dr. Jeremy Glenn, Granbury ISD Superintendent. “Your service to Granbury ISD and as a student leader (at Brawner Elementary) is appreciated. We wish you the best of luck on a bright future.”
