One reason why World Water Day is recognized is to shed light on how we can better protect this vital resource. We can all do our part by disposing of harmful materials properly. Contaminated soil can pollute the groundwater or nearby surface water, which are critical reservoirs for the water we use every day. These materials include motor oil, pesticides, leftover paint and paint cans, mothballs, flea collars, household cleaners, medicines, etc. Many fertilizers and pesticides also contain hazardous chemicals that can travel through the soil and contaminate groundwater. #WorldWaterDay2021 #MuniPower www.granbury.org/munipower
