Rucker Street Reconstruction to Begin Monday

Granbury, Texas – Beginning Monday, Jan. 11, contractors working for the City of Granbury will begin reconstruction of Rucker St., from North Travis St. to the North Hannaford St. intersection.

“The project is expected to take 4-5 weeks, [weather permitting],” said Public Works Director Rick Crownover. “We’re asking that local commuters avoid the area. Local residents will have access to their properties throughout the project."

Crownover explained that the Rucker St. Reconstruction Project will begin with existing pavement removal and installation of new base material, followed by repaving. The project is part of the 2020 Street Improvement Project (Phase 1). Barriers will be installed later this week at the following intersections:

• N. Houston St. and Cogdill St.

• N. Houston St. and Mill St.

• Mill St. and N. Thrash St.

• Mill St. and N. Baker St.

• W. Rucker St. and N. Travis St.

• W. Rucker St. and N. Thrash St.

• W. Rucker St. and N. Houston St.

• N. Hannaford St. and Mill St.

The second phase of the Rucker St. Reconstruction will be from Hannaford to Jones St. The Granbury Independent School District Bus Barn will be open throughout the Project.
