[ARCHIVED] ALERT: SCHEDULED WATER LINE MAINTENANCE THIS WEEKEND

Granbury, Texas – Beginning Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m., water service for the neighborhoods of Eastview Terrace, Williamsburg Court, and the 600-613 block South Harbor Drive and 1701-1905 blocks of South Morgan Street will be shut down for needed repairs and upgrades.

The work will include upgrades to the existing system (to repair leaks) and the addition of new valves, which will allow even smaller areas to be isolated during water emergencies and outages.

All new components, including new T-fittings and valves, will be fully assembled and disinfected before installation allowing the water lines to be placed into service.

“We are hoping that with the preparation of the area and parts the water will be off for a matter of minutes as opposed to hours,” said Paul Gast, Distribution/Collection Superintendent, City of Granbury Public Works Department. “Once placed back into service, the lines will be flushed according to Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requirements.”

“We hope that by working during the middle of the day, it will minimize the inconvenience to the residents and businesses in this area,” Gast stated.

For any questions or concerns, please contact Gast at 817-573-7030, or Granbury Public Information Officer Alex Southern at 817-573-6764 or at asouthern@granbury.org.
