[ARCHIVED] STATE HIGHWAY 171 TO CLOSE FRIDAY NIGHT, SATURDAY MORNING

SH 171 Detour July 2020

Starting at 7 p.m. tonight and running through 6 a.m. Saturday, State Highway 171 will be closed to all thru-traffic to allow bridge construction work to be done on the US 377 Cresson Relief Route – weather permitting.

Signs will be posted for the detour, and motorists should expect delays.

The US 377 Cresson Relief Route will be a new four-lane divided highway to the west of the US 377/SH 171 intersection. SH 171 will have roadway closures just east of Slocum Ranch Road (west of US 377). Traffic will be detoured from SH 171 to US 377 southbound, and travel to FM 167 northbound and to FM 3450 eastbound to SH 171 (reverse for the opposite direction).

The detour route will be signed along the roadway for the traveling public during the closures and mobile message boards will assist motorists in relaying additional closures. More information about the US 377 Cresson Relief Route can be found on the project’s Facebook page by searching “us377mobility” in the app.

For more information please contact Texas Department of Transportation Public Information Officer Bethany Kurtz at 817-370-6744 or Bethany.Kurtz@txdot.gov.

An exhibit of the detour is attached.
