The City of Granbury Public Works Department will begin utility work at the intersection of N. Travis & Rucker Streets, Thursday, which will close the intersection through Friday, August 28.
“The entire intersection will be out of service during this time due to the realignment of critical valves, piping and other (accessories) associated with several utilities in this area,” said Public Works Director Rick Crownover. “We had planned this project for earlier in the summer, but everything has shifted due to COVID-19.”
The work will include pavement removal in the intersection, replacing water and wastewater piping and valves, and researching the condition of the intersection’s other utilities. After the underground work is completed, the intersection will be repaved.
Drivers and neighborhood residents should be aware that Rucker St. will be closed from N. Houston St. to N. Thrash St., and N. Travis St. will be closed from Cogdell St. to Mill St. There will be no traffic allowed through the area during construction. Work is scheduled to be completed on Friday, Aug. 28, weather permitting.
