[ARCHIVED] Cresson Relief Route Construction to Cause Weekend Closures

SH 171 Detour July 2020

US 377 Cresson Relief Route Construction Traffic Alert

The Cresson Relief Route construction project will be causing several traffic delays and detours starting today and running through Aug. 9 on US Highway 377 and State Highway 171. Construction activities will include the placement of steel beams over SH 171 and the adjoining rail yards, and closure of the roadways for safety concerns.

SH 171 will have roadway closures just east of Slocum Ranch Road (west of US 377), causing traffic to be detoured from SH 171 to US 377 southbound and travel to Farm to Market Road 167 northbound and to FM 3450 eastbound to SH 171 (reverse for the opposite direction).

Lane closures will occur each night and be opened back up each morning, on weekdays.  Weekend closures will be continuous Saturday evening thru Sunday morning at the times shown below:

o    Aug. 8th thru 9th – 7 p.m. to 10 a.m.

The detour route will have signs along the roadway for the traveling public during the closures and changeable message boards will assist motorists in relaying additional closure information.  These planned closures are subject to schedule changes and weather disruptions.  You can also find this information on Facebook by searching “us377mobility.” You can also follow the attached map.
