The Granbury City Council named Acton Elementary School Student Council President Beckett Roe an Honorary Councilmember at the February 18, 2020 City Council Meeting in recognition of her academic excellence, leadership, and representation of the qualities of an excellent councilmember.
Beckett is in the fifth grade in Acton Elementary School. She was elected Student Council President this year and has been a councilmember every year. Her teacher, Shanna McPherson, said, “Beckett is a true leader and leads by great example. She is a stellar student and sets the bar high for herself. Teachers can always count on Beckett to do the right thing and also help others. At Acton Elementary we focus on character traits each month; courage, positivity, wisdom, dependability, enthusiasm, kindness, and integrity. Beckett exudes each one of these. She is one incredible girl!”
The Granbury City Council will continue to recognize exceptional students involved in student council from different schools in the Granbury Independent School District at future City Council meetings.
