City of Granbury Convention & Visitors Bureau – Visit Granbury is honored to have received three Ray Cammack Marketing Awards of excellence from the Texas Association of Fairs & Events (TAF&E). The awards were presented at the TAF&E State Convention in Galveston, TX in January. The City of Granbury CVB received three third place awards in the statewide competition.
Awards were received in the events under 50,000 in attendance category included
- Best Specialty Video – C.A.T.S. Festival 6 Cigar Aficionados Trade & Sales Festival – Cigars for Warriors Event
- Best Other Merchandise – Apron for Harvest Moon Festival of the Arts Presented by HGMA
- Best Website – VisitGranbury.com
The Texas Association of Fairs & Events is made up of events and organizations from across the state of Texas. It includes fairs and festivals of all sizes, including city, community, county, district, and state-wide events. TAF&E also includes associate members that provide services and supplies to event members.
The Texas Association of Fairs & Events Award of Excellence Marketing Competition recognizes fairs, festivals, and events for outstanding promotions and superior examples of promotional and media initiatives. TAF&E’s Marketing and Communications Awards allow members to learn from one another and share great ideas while also providing an opportunity to recognize the efforts of the staff, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who make events possible.
“Granbury has worked very hard over many years with so many outstanding individuals and organizations building our events. I am so excited to continue to work with all these events and bringing in new events to the community. My goal is to elevate all our events on a statewide level. We want people to know which events Granbury host annually and make their travel plans around them. It is wonderful to be recognized for the contributions events make to a community,” said Tammy Dooley, Director of Visit Granbury.
Tammy Dooley and Sam Carr represented the City of Granbury at the convention. Dooley is currently serving a 3-year term on the TAF&E Board of Directors. Sam Carr, Event Coordinator at Visit Granbury, has just begun her Texas Event Management Institute Certification Program, a designation Dooley received in 2019 as a Certified Festival and Event Associate.
“While we did not receive a first place this year, it was the first time Granbury has had a presence at this state convention. We are already planning on what we can do next year to win several first-place awards. Granbury events provide tourism economic impact while creating a great quality of life for our community. Everything we can do to promote these great events is a win-win for everyone,” said Dooley.
