Meter Foreman Jarrod Butler was named 2018 Employee of the Year. Butler was promoted to Meter Foreman this year, and he has been an excellent employee of the City for three and a half years.

Assistant Director of Public Works/Utilities Jason Barber wrote the nomination for Butler in which he noted that “During 2018, Jarrod has continuously gone above and beyond when assisting customers and multiple departments. His professional demeanor, knowledge of utilities, knowledge of billing, and local insight provide Jarrod with the skills to solve any situation,” he wrote, “We have received multiple compliments on Jarrod from citizens.”

The third annual “Get-R-Done Award,” which is awarded to an employee for their ability to deliver results regardless of circumstances, was presented to Building Maintenance Technician Traci Gonzales. Her supervisor, Assistant Director of Public Works/Maintenance Terry Johnson, noted that she is “one of the hardest working employees that I have seen in my 40 years of service with the City of Granbury.”

The annual luncheon is also an opportunity to present service awards to those City team members who have worked for the City for a landmark number of years:

Twenty Years of Service
Chris Cogdill

Fifteen Years of Service
Kevin Clapp, Carla Kracy, Cory Lander, Aaron McLain, Lisa Medford

Ten Years of Service
Christina Carpenter, Aaron Heathington, Maria Juarez, Cheryl Kirchner, Joe Moad, Jose Mojica, Timothy Tillison, Heather Walls, Patricia Westbrook, Patrick Wiginton

Five Years of Service
Cody Blakley, Dasan Boling, Roger Brock, Donna Erwin, Katie Moses, Josue Valdez

During the luncheon, the employees and elected officials present reflected on how fortunate members of the municipal team are to get to work every day in jobs that help make the Granbury community strong and improve the quality of life for its citizens. The City of Granbury congratulates those team members who, through the length and caliber of their service, exemplify that idea.
