Assistant City Manager Michael Ross earned the Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification at the program’s graduation ceremony on June 8. Mayor Nin Hulett recognized Mr. Ross for the achievement at the June 19 Granbury City Council Meeting.
The 18-month CPM program is a nationally-recognized program for training and developing public managers and supervisors. The primary goals are to professionalize public management and improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. Courses of study cover human resources, quality management, communication, finance, program evaluation and information systems.
Texas State University’s William P. Hobby Center for Public Service graduated 62 new Texas Certified Public Managers at the Texas State Capitol at the June 8 ceremony. The CPM graduates and their families came from CPM Programs at the following locations: Arlington, Houston, Edinburg, Nacogdoches, Round Rock, and San Marcos Texas. Mr. Ross was 1 of 20 participants who graduated from Texas State University Arlington.
