[ARCHIVED] “Granbury PD Officer Saves Child’s Life” Video Receives AVA Platinum Awards

The video “Granbury PD Officer Saves Child’s Life” received a Platinum Award in two categories from the AVA Digital Awards. The video showcases the heroic actions of Granbury Police Department’s Officer Chase Miller using CPR to save a 3-year-old boy’s life on October 12, 2016.

Granbury PD Officer Saves Child’s Life” earned a Platinum Award in the categories for “News & Information” and “Government Access.” The video was produced by Granbury Media within the City of Granbury using Granbury Police Department vehicle dash cam footage.

AVA Digital Awards is an international competition that recognizes outstanding work by creative professionals involved in the concept, direction, design and production of media that is part of the evolution of digital communication. Work ranges from audio and video productions- to websites that present interactive components such as video, animation, blogs, and podcasts- to interactive social media sites- to other forms of user-generated communication. AVA Digital Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).

The video shows Officer Miller arriving on the scene within one minute of a 911 call from a father whose son was not breathing. When he arrived, the boy was unresponsive. Officer Miller performed CPR until the boy was able to breathe again. At the October 18, 2016 City Council Meeting, Mayor Hulett presented the Life Saving Award to Officer Miller.

The video has been seen countless times through different media outlets across the state, country, and world. The post of the video that was shared by Good Morning America on Facebook has been viewed 37 million times.
